The Lowcountry Challenge
Welcome to the Lowcountry, featuring three courses teaming with exciting challenge, personality and natural South Carolina beauty. Play all three in a package geared towards not only testing your skills, but increasing the gratification of your stay.
Wachesaw Plantation East
Carved from the site of an old rice plantation, Wachesaw East never fails to make a phenomenal impression. Awarded a spot as one of Golf Digests "Places To Play," and its list of top-50 US courses for best customer service, Wachesaw has hosted numerous televised tournaments including the 1997 LPGA Susan G. Koman International, 2000 Kathy Ireland/Greens.com Classic and both the 1998 & 1999 City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classics. Designed by architect Clyde Johnston, a strong Scottish design influence is quite tangible, translating into rolling fairways and traditional mounding. Fast Tif-Eagle greens, extraordinary fresh-water wetlands and cleverly-placed bunkers add to the exciting challenge. Want more? Five sets of tees will inspire greatness from within.
Prestwick Country Club
Named one of the "5 Best Kept Secret Golf Courses in America" by Golf Digest, this beautiful Pete & P.B. Dye course is by far one of the most spectacular links-style masterpieces in the area. The natural beauty of the course is unforgettable, from Dogwood-lined fairways to dense forest and meandering lakes and streams, you'll be immersed in tranquil South Carolina grace. Dune-like, 35-foot berms and bulk-head protected greens, plus six sets of tees offer challenge to every level of golfer. Play it once, and be prepared to add it to your play-again list in the future.
Tradition Golf Club
Previous winner of South Carolina's "Golf Course of the Year," the Tradition will test your power and accuracy at every turn. Large landing areas and well-guarded greens sit upon the site of a 16th century plantation, complete with natural, Lowcountry beauty and accompanying serenity. In 1996, Golf Digest nominated the Tradition as "Best New Public Course," and ever since, the compliments have been flowing in for the traditional, Ron Garl-designed work of art.
The following hole was recently awarded the distinction of being named one of the Grand Strand Area's Dream 18:
