05.  Opening date to be announced.  Skywheel Myrtle Beach.  Located alongside the newly opened boardwalk in downtown Myrtle Beach, this wheel rises 18 stories and carries glass-enclosed, temperature-controlled gondolas holding up to 6 people each.  Overlooks the ocean and coastline, light shows, and the entire area.

05.  Military Concert Series, in conjunction with the month-long Military Appreciation days.  Free concert every Friday in May, usually starting at 6 PM – 9 PM between 8th and 9th Avenues North. 

05.07.  MayFest, North Myrtle Beach, Main Street Horseshoe.  Held on Saturday, this fun annual event includes arts and crafts, food, a children’s area, and much more.  Count on plenty of beach music, too, in free concerts by “legends of surf music” Al Jardine, David Torrence, David Marks with the Surf City Allstars, the Dazz Band, BroadBAND, Danny Woods and the Board of Directors Band.  Details at 843-280-5570. 05.14-15.  Little River, SC, Blue Crab Festival.  Plenty of fun, food, and frolic in historic Little River along the Intracoastal Waterway.  Tickets available through http://www.bluecrabfestival.org/. 

05.21.  Beach Blast!  Christian Music Festival.   Toby Mac, Skillet, LeCrae, Disciple, Anthem Lights, with speakers.  Between 8th and 9th Avenues North.  Tickets on sale through www.myrtlebeachmayfest.com.
