Moles in Our Parts
Here in the Carolinas we have something called the Star-Nose Mole that can grow 8 1/2 inches long and move under your lawn at about a foot per minute. Those much-coveted earthworms that are so good for the garden are one of the moles favorite treats. This creature will surface now and then, but his known hang-out is under the surface of your lawn.
